You heard that old saying . . . right? March Comes In Like a Lion?
Well it’s true. This HY. & I, for 1, am grateful for the break in this busy, busy winter season of unrelenting sunshine, wind & chill. We been so busy, it’s nice to lay around with the Lions. That’s want Lions call marching, I guess. I guess I’ll know if I see a Lion.
Immediately subsequent to our Valentines Day, we hadda prepare for our trip to the coast for some site seeing & aquarium watching. What a place that Carmel/Monterey area is. Fun for everyone.
Soon upon arrival at our Carmel-quaint-cottage accommodations, we made our way to the beach. Mymi was holding onto my leash pretty tight until I pointed out that all the other dogs on the public beach were running free. So she let me off the leash & I got to run with the other dogs. Play tag with the waves. Tried a little water cuz it looked pretty good & I was kinda thirsty. But that water is YUCK! Don’t drink it whatever you do if you get to the ocean. Didn’t see any lions tho. Guess that’s cuz it wasn’t March yet.
We drove down the coastline (that’s where the ocean waves slam against the semi-solid terra firma) to where the road was washed out due to too much rain a few HMs ago. We saw evidence of repair & removal of mud. But there in Gorda, the road ends. Kaput. Fini. So we peaked thru the barriers & went to get ice cream. Well Mymi & GolfNut got ice cream but they only gave me a BluStick. What up with that?! Then we turned around & drove back to our little cottage.
Now I gotta say, that cottage was little. Not like we’re used to. Hardly a place to put my bowls down. Good thing I don’t require extra devices or mats to snag a little shut eye.
But the aquarium was where it’s AT! Scads & scads of people standing in line. Waiting to get in. Scads & scads more inside. Running around. Looking at the various & diverse occupants of the many glass bowls they swim & sun (or shade) in. & it wasn’t just fish in those bowls. Something called Jellyfish which perform these beautiful graceful moves to mesmerize & enchant the visitors. Crabs & penguins. Turtles & the Dance of the Sardines. Didn’t see any lions, tho. Still not March.
& Buffleheads. Saw a bunch of Buffleheads. Now I gotta be a Bufflehead whenever I snitch some delicacy offa a lawn or park just cuz Mymi thinks that’s a funny word to describe some a the stuff I do she doesn’t understand. Like snitching delicacies as I discover them. Who knows? Tmro they’ll be gone.
But then we hadda return to our Domain here in MyValley. Nice ride home. Stopped for Pea Soup. Almost a requirement for humans. Mymi saved a bit of her soup for me to try but that stuff is YUCK too.
But it’s March now & while I don’t see a Lion anywhere I look, March is roaring in nonetheless. Howling winds. Blowing rain on our windows. White caps on the pool. Sheesh. Never seen it like this in all my days here on AnimalPlanet.com.
We, here at Todo Chronicles, currently experiencing this wild & rapid weather change event, where the rain has already raised our pool level to flood-stage & the vertical blinds on our door/windows are blowing, want to reaffirm that Climate Change is real. It’s going to continue with radical & unpredictable weather patterns. It’s going to cause lots of heartache & financial loss to humans. Humans better start vigorously addressing this #1 Global Crisis or whole populations will become migrants to less & less habitable areas & the loss thru property damage will be more than international budgets combined. We’ll all go under.
So, we here at Todo Chronicles, want to thank Lions everywhere for bringing this eye-opening crazy weather event, Marching With Lions to the attention of AnimalPlanet.com. Even tho we haven’t seen a Lion yet.
