Lotta you, my BFFs, have heard of my encounter with a pack of 3 Pitt Bulls right here in My Neighborhood Park. I think I lost but I did get out with my life thanks to my Auntie Judy.
We went to the park like usual so my Auntie Judy can throw my ball & I can run & catch it. I just returned the ball when this pack ran into the park with their leashes trailing behind. Before we knew what was happening, they surrounded me, todally ignoring my Auntie Judy. They sized me up & went for the jugular.
The apparent owners ran up & attempted to wrestle their pack offa me. I was scrambling & screaming & My Auntie Judy managed to get me loose from those Crazies. I ran straight for her auto & jumped in. The apparent owners were still on the ground wrestling the pack.
Auntie Judy whisked me to MyVet. I was kinda dizzy & disoriented. MyVet asked permission to give me anesthesia & stitch me back together. Just before I went to sleep, Mymi showed up to give me loves & reassurance. Cuz by then I was not sure I could be reassembled.
They say I was out 2 HHs. They put lotta stitches around my head & neck & little rubber tubes for leakage. Then I got transported by Mymi to a vet hospital where they have vets on duty 24/7. They said I needed watching. Why I don’t know bc I wasn’t in the mood to go anywhere but home. I didn’t want Mymi to leave me there but I was too tired & sore to properly object.
So I did my time in the Pet Hospital & came home to My Domain the HD subsequent to this mysterious & frightening experience. & I been doing better & better every day. My Vet is proud of me. Everyone calls me a Survivor. A Tough Cookie. An Old Soul.
I gotta thank my Heroic Auntie Judy for cool & calm in the face of calamity. Without her cool head I’da been a gonner. & my talented Vet & staff who stitched me back together. & all the well wishers that sent me good vibes & best wishes & hope & prayers for my recovery.
Mymi posted the incident on our Community FB page. & on our own FB page. Hoping for information to identify these Irresponsible Pitt Bulls’ owners. She reported to Animal Control that can do little without identification information. So we got no answers as to what Irresponsible Owner would bring 3 trained Killer Pitt Bulls into a Community Park? Which people, kids & dogs are supposed to be able to enjoy without fear of dying.
Some of the replies said . . . Oh OK9, you’re just prejudiced against Pitt Bulls bc they gave you a beat down. Which is todolly untrue.
So I consulted my good friend & K9 BFF, Chet the Dog with this burning question:
Dear Chet. Are Pitt Bulls considered member of the Nation Within? Because I was attacked & mauled by a pack of 3 Pitt Bulls while playing ball with my Nanny in the park near our domain. They exposed my jugular & almost ripped my head off. I’m lucky to have a heroic Nanny, excellent veterinarians & a loving home or I’da been up the creek without the Doggie Paddle. & we within the Nation Within know what creek that is. So do Pitt Bulls know what creek we refer to or should some skullduggerous humans just not deserve the honor of the K9/Human Partnership.
Chet the Dog is quite dumbfounded by this turn of events. He was unable to put forth an opinion. Be extended good wishes for total recovery. Perhaps this could be the subject of the next Chet & Bernie Mystery to solve.
I’m gonna recover. I am gonna get better. I, The Amazing Opal, can not be kept down. You can’t keep a good dog down. Thanks for all your good wishes.
